Why it matters

The contract shows how many defense vehicles work: a headline ceiling, a small guarantee, and money that follows task orders. Lockheed reported third quarter results on Oct. 22.

  • Lockheed reported Q3 sales of $20.7B, up 11%, and a record backlog of $292.0B.
  • Task orders can come from the Navy and other government requesters.
  • The ordering period runs three years, to October 2029.

What to watch

  • The size and number of the first task orders.
  • Whether orders approach the $88.6M ceiling before the ordering period ends.
  • Whether Lockheed mentions the program in later filings.
